This blew me away..

I was completely blown away by the huge 40 x 60 prints the Marshall's had at their reception of their engagement photos, taken by me. I've never seen my work blown up that big. It made me feel good that they were that proud to show everyone. Thanks you guys!!! That really made my day! My girls were actually making fun of me, saying.. "Mom's taking pictures of her pictures."

My Girls

Both of my girls are growing up faster than I want them to. Time really does pass by. I remember bringing each of them home from the hospital, as if it were not too long ago. This year, Katheryn is a Junior, and Brittany is a Freshman in High School.

Aniah : 6 months

She is absolutely adorable!

Isn't it something how babies change in the first few months. And how they go from being fast asleep to wide awake - lots of fun for me as a photographer. I never know what kind of a session I'll have. This nice little surprise of light made an awing image.

I just adored Brooke's "pretty woman" red gown, and am in awe of how fabulous her and her date look in these photos.

Sci-Fi Sky

These photos are completely unenhanced!!! Last night's stormy sky was one I don't think I've ever seen. I called everyone I could get on the phone to tell them to take a step outside to see it. The sky was dark, and gray.. with a sun setting. It really looked like something out of a sci-fi movie. I had to rush home and grab my camera to snap these shots. I wish I had been able to take some photos when the sun was a little higher in the sky, because it was really cool looking.

I love watching the sky and how it looks in the morning as the sun is rising, and how it looks in the evening as it is setting. In the fall, in the morning time against all of the colors on the trees, the sky looks purple. In the summer time, it looks teal blue sometimes just before it completly goes down. It's different everyday - and something simple I take pleasure in.

One of the most humble things I've ever heard someone say, is what a great life he had, because every single morning he watched the sun come up, and every single evening he watched it set. A few months later he passed away. Because of him, I try not to take for granted the simple things that make life beautiful.

Last night's Prom brought back memories for me that seem as though they were not that long ago - yet, they were. It's just hard to believe that my kids have grown up so quickly. Soon, they will graduate and begin lives of their own. I am happy that they've got such bright futures ahead of them, but sad that they are soon to leave the nest.

Oh Boy!

Here's some of my precious little nephew. I absolutely LOVE these photos!!

This flag is very special, because it was the flag given to my grandmother after my grandfather passed. It honored his life and how he served our country. The flag was passed to my father, and will be passed to my brother, and one day will be given to my nephew.

Knowing Ben was wrapped within this flag his first few days of life, would have made my Grandpa very happy. He adored his grand children, and would give all he had to care for them.

And the last photo of him sucking on his two tiny fingers... oh my goodness - how precious!!!

Here's a new pic of my 4 month old niece, who I call Nee Nee. She is such a little angel, always smiling and cooing. My girls and I love to babysit her!!

Happy Birthday Ben!

Early this morning our family was blessed with a healthy little baby boy - my brother's son, Ben.

Jon and his wife Megan are going to be wonderful with Ben, and are already so proud of him.

Within the week, we are going to have his first photo session.

Just weeks away...

We're just weeks away from welcoming my brother Jon's first baby, a son he and his wife, Megan will name Ben.

I'm so excited and just can't wait to see what Ben will look like. I wonder if he will be born with a head full of dark hair, like his mom's, or will he be blonde like his dad. Either color, I can not wait to take lots of pictures from his sweet little smile, down to his tiny little toes.

So Many Favorites!!!

It's been a while since I've posted, so I'm going to put up a lot of pictures in this one!

I prefer outdoor lighting over studio, but was pretty impressed with these. I basically used regular room lighting, my flash and some photoshop enhancing.

This was a fun session, with a fun, loving family. It will be any day now, and a sweet little baby brother will complete this combo.
